Tips on Preventing Running Injuries

Running seems like it's a very safe sport where one foot just follows the other while you are running from point A to point B. But there are many types of both small and large running injuries that you should be aware of. There are many websites with informative resources to give you the information you need in order to prevent those injuries.

There are a few things to do in order to prevent running injuries from occurring. Every runner must do a few minutes of stretching before they run. Warming up before you run and cooling down for several minutes after you run can prevent running injuries. Running stretches your muscle more than 10% than its normal length. If you are starting or stopping abruptly, it is disastrous to your muscles and bones and you are just asking for running injuries. Make sure you wear good, comfortable Running Shoes with good cushioning. Replace your shoes every 400 miles and try to run on firm and even ground. Running on grassy fields is not a very good idea because you are likely to get ankle injuries when you are running on uneven fields. Also, don't try to push your limits too often or by too much. In other words, to avoid running injuries, you have to keep your pace of running.
